Innovation Through Co-Creation with Manchester Met MBA
-
Tom Parson
Last week, I was invited to deliver a keynote workshop for current students and alumni of the Manchester Met MBA programme at Manchester Met Business School.
The session, titled “Innovation Through Co-Creation,” explored how bringing diverse perspectives together can create solutions that are greater than the sum of their parts - ideas that couldn’t have been conceived any other way.
Tom shared stories from past clients that illustrated both the successes and the challenges of co-creation, drawing out one central truth:
Co-creation isn’t about giving people what they want, no questions asked. It’s about balance: finding the space between customer needs, staff requirements, and commercial goals.
Participants then experienced co-creation first-hand through short, collaborative exercises tackling a real question: How do we influence change in organisations that resist it?

The session sparked lively discussion and insightful debate - a perfect setting to debut the new Big Echo branding in person!
It’s always rewarding to see people experience how co-creation feels in practice - and how quickly it can shift perspectives.
A big thank you to Emma Holt, Anastasia Kynighou, and Anna Maria P. for the invitation and warm welcome.
