I'm excited to share that Big Echo will be leading on the UX, prototyping and build of a new AI-powered digital platform for Unhooked Communications, funded by Innovate UK.

The platform will help PR professionals plan, evaluate and demonstrate the real impact of their work - moving beyond traditional metrics like reach and coverage to track outcomes linked to reputation, behaviour and commercial performance.
From Workshop to Funded Project
This collaboration began during a Big Echo innovation workshop earlier this year, where Unhooked’s team - led by Managing Director Claire Gamble - explored one big question: How can we better show the impact of PR work?
Together, Claire and I developed and refined ideas from that session into a funding proposal through Innovate UK’s Create Growth Programme, run in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
Only 6.5% of applicants were successful - so I'm thrilled to see the idea recognised and funded. Huge credit to Claire and the team at Unhooked for their vision and persistence.
A Co-Designed Approach
The project will take a highly collaborative, user-led approach, ensuring the platform is tested early and often with real users to achieve strong product-market fit and lasting stakeholder buy-in.
It’s a great example of the Big Echo innovation pipeline in action:
- Framing the right challenge
- Co-creating practical, validated ideas
- Supporting clients through funding and development to bring them to life
“Our goal with this new platform is to transform how PR impact is measured and communicated,” said Claire. “This funding gives us the opportunity to build a tool that empowers PR professionals and business leaders to prove value and make better strategic decisions.”
Innovation for Real-World Impact
At Big Echo, we’re passionate about helping SMEs use innovation as a practical business tool.
This partnership with Unhooked shows what can happen when creativity, curiosity and collaboration meet real-world problems.
